NEUA NEWS

We are getting ready here at NEUA for what promises to be an excellent arts fair in Saltburn on the 3-5th August. Saltburn Arts Fair is Saltburn’s first dedicated arts fair. The Saltburn arts fair will focus on excellence, showcasing the very best artists from the North of England, coupled with national and international artists.

NEUA has a stall on the 5th of August as part of the event. Come say hello to us. The fair is open from 10am to 5pm and is located in and around Station Street and the Square. We shall have clothing and artwork available to buy and it promises to be a must go event for all art lovers in the region.

ARTISTS

We have been blessed here at NEUA with a lot of interest by some excellent artists wishing to showcase their work through the site.

We have now got a collection of work by Newcastle’s street artist LEND. Three of LEND’s signature images are now available which have been taken directly from LEND’s unique wheat paste images and printed onto high quality professional photo paper. With more to follow…

We are looking forward to adding work by MISSDEV, another Newcastle based street artist who’s bright and colourful images inspired by nature and a love of tattoo art are very pleasing to the eye. Keep an eye out for her work which should be up and online very shortly. We shall also be adding some new work by artist IrvingART by the end of the week – so lots of new artwork for you viewing pleasure!!!

Karl Striker has been a busy boy, painting a large mural at a brand new community centre in Scarborough. We asked Karl for some info about the piece…

“The Street project was a free commision piece I did. I was asked if I’d like to contribute and I was very happy to – I’m all for community projects. ‘The Street’ is a brand new community and sports centre as well as advice centre which opens in November. It’s in the heart of Scarborough town centre and has received a £6.5 million pound lottery fund grant. It’s huge. The plans look fantastic and I’m sure the local community will benefit greatly when it opens.”

Last week we attended RefreshTeesside, a networking event for creatives in the Teesside area. A great night was had by all, a lot of networking and interesting discussions. Looking forward to the next event in August.
